Marvel Zombies' 5 Goriest Deaths

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Marvel Zombies!
Marvel Zombies caught me massively off-guard with the amount of blood and guts on display, making the show a notable departure from most other MCU projects. While the franchise has gradually been maturing with its audience, gore is still something that's only peppered in now and then.
The ending of Marvel Zombies season 1 strongly implies the intention to make more episodes down the line, although season 2 has yet to be announced. If and when the animated Disney+ original returns, I'm sure it will continue to showcase its penchant for severed body parts and exposed bones.
It should obviously be noted that there are more than five gory deaths in Marvel Zombies' inaugural run, but I've sifted through them all to rank only the five most gruesome. Honorable mentions go to Death Dealer getting thrown around like a broken-boned ragdoll, Kamala Khan exploding Zombie Namor's head, and Zombie Thanos stripping the flesh from Rocket's bones with the Infinity Gauntlet.

5. Baron Zemo's Heart Being Torn Out In New Asgard
Original Baron Zemo actor Daniel Brühl isn't among the Marvel Zombies cast, but Rama Vallury does a great job at filling in. After an exciting arc of ally-turned-adversary-turned-ally-again, Zemo meets a grim end in what was supposed to be the safety of New Asgard.
An unnamed and recently zombified Asgardian plunges his fist through Zemo's chest from behind in episode 3 and squishes his heart in full view of everyone watching. The moment is immediately followed up with what is essentially a POV shot of the offending zombie Asgardian as Zemo's entire body is split in two. Nothing is left to the imagination.

4. Tiny Zombie Hank Pym Being Sliced In Half By Blade Knight
The final confrontation in episode 4 between Elizabeth Olsen's Zombie Wanda and the remaining living heroes sees the Undead Queen's forces cut down in their droves. It's one of the coolest sequences in the entire show, and one of the zombie deaths sticks out a little more than some of the others.
In an immaculately executed team kill between Spider-Man (Hudson Thames), Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), and Blade Knight (Todd Williams), the shrunken-down Zombie Hank Pym is sent flying in the direction of Khonshu's vampire avatar. Blade doesn't disappoint, and the show gives Zombie Hank an epic slow-mo death as he's sliced brutally in twain.

3. The Top Half Of Zombie Captain America Being Squished By The Red Guardian
The main version of Alexei "The Red Guardian" Shostakov has made no secret of his reverence for Steve Rogers, and the iteration of David Harbour's character who appears in Marvel Zombies is apparently no different. The chance for him to fight the original Captain America fills him with excitement in the show's premiere.
The fight is played predominantly for laughs, with only the top half of Cap remaining, but still more than giving Alexei a run for his money. The Red Guardian's final blow sees him throw himself onto his back, where Steve Rogers' undead remains are clinging to him. An unholy splat sends Cap's insides flying into the immediate surroundings, and it's a wince-worthy victory for Harbour's Russian super soldier.

2. Zombie Janet Van Dyne's Gruesome Death At The Hands Of Valkyrie
Tessa Thompson's return as Valkyrie looked to be over in episode 4 when Zombie Janet Van Dyne - the OG Wasp - appeared to crush the Asgardian with a single fist. However, Valkryie's too stubborn and too powerful to be killed in such a pedestrian way. Her horrific counterattack genuinely repulsed me in the best way possible.
Slithering all the way up the inside of Janet's rotten arm, Valkyrie's disgusting journey sees all sorts of dead veins and muscles bursting to the surface. The crescendo of making her way into Janet's brain and forcing it open from the inside is shockingly cinematic, and I highly doubt it's something Disney would attempt in live-action.

1. Zombie Thor's Head Being Crushed By Infinity Hulk
Voiced by Greg Furman in Thor's lone Marvel Zombies episode, the God of Thunder is shown losing to Zombie Thanos and then falling into a deep depression - similar to how he reacted following the Avengers' loss to the Mad Titan at the end of 2018's Infinity War. Thankfully, Furman's Thor manages to redeem himself while holding off Wanda, while Kamala (Iman Vellani) and her friends escape the overrun New Asgard.
Returning for the finale's big battle sequence, and now a Zombie, Thor is sent by Wanda to try and take down a version of the Hulk bolstered by the power of the infinity stones he's protecting. Although Zombie Thor puts up a respectable fight, the Hulk is merciless as he crushes Thor's head with his bare foot from an immense height.
The bloody, pulpy mess of what remains of Thor's head lingers on the screen for a surprisingly long time, and even in animated form, it's a difficult thing to look at. It wasn't just Marvel Zombies' most gory death, but it's easily among the show's most impactful moments overall.
