What motivated you to make this particular cosplay?
I did Ming originally for Halloween and everyone loved him so decided to take him to the MCM [Comic Con] in May this year. Plus who doesn't love being an evil emperor! I love Flash Gordon, met Sam J Jones at MCM and thought a picture of me and him would be amazing. Unfortunately I haven't been Ming at a con with him...YET!! What was your first cosplay? I've enjoyed fancy dress for years but my first actual cosplay was Bellatrix Lestrange (My sister was Narcissa)! |

What's the best and worst part of the costume?
The best part about being Ming is the anonymity it gives. Some of my very best friends didn't recognise me. Also lots of appreciated him and rather than 'nice cosplay', I'd get comments as if I WAS Ming. That was cool, even if some of the comments were 'DEATH TO MING'! The worst is definitely the bald cap!! May was really warm this year so it kept unsticking, which was super annoying!
What's your biggest inspiration?
Inspiration is quite tricky because I'm quite new but there is one lady who sticks out in my mind, a lovely little granma [sic] cosplaying as Anna from Frozen! She totally rocked my world!
What's your dream character to cosplay?
I'm not sure what my dream cosplay is yet but @nonconpoop_cosplay are working on something pretty cool for next year! No spoilers though I'm afraid! Haha

And what's the best cosplay you're ever seen yourself?
The best cosplay I've seen to date is the Monty Python gang @thepythonknights. They are true to the characters pretty much all day and are so happy to interact with everyone! |
