@igor_pie_face is our Cosplay of the Week Winner. Here's an interview with HOBGOBLIN himself:
What motivated you to make this particular cosplay?
I've always been a huge fan of Spider-Man. When I started reading he was fighting Hobgoblin, so he became my favourite villain.
What was your first cosplay?
Gambit. I made that back in 2014. It was the first time I had ever worked with EVA foam, which I had bought from a local store.
What's the best and worst part of the costume?
The best is the reaction I get. It always makes me happy that there are so many Hobgoblin fans. I even got apic at NYCC with a guy wearing a Hobgoblin shirt. The worst part was teaching myself how to make scale-mail armour. I watched a LOT of YouTube videos. I made multiple mistakes before getting the understanding of how it all works.
What's your biggest inspiration?
When I started to make Gambit I looked mostly at 2 guys work. Raymond Romas and Davence Young, these guys are super skilled, everybody should check them out.
What's your dream character to cosplay?
I would probably be Voltron. LOVED that cartoon as a kid. I was lucky at NYCC to geta picture with someone that had done an EXCELLENT JOB making one, a couple of years back.
And what's the best cosplay you're ever seen yourself?
Probably a full size Hulk Buster cosplay that I think won NYCC like, 2 years back. I've seen it a few times in person and it's just amazing.
Would you like to add anything?
I would love to give a big thanks to Wayne Lukash for amking the Hobgoblin mask and all the fabric work done on Hobgoblin was by Khepera Cosplay. Both SUPER talented people.
