PHOENIX RESURRECTION  THE RETURN OF JEAN GREY #3 (OF 5)

This has been a surprisingly good read so far full of twists and unexpected turns to keep you guessing. What could have been a predictable rehash of a tired X-Men trope has turned out to be a fresh and pretty cool take on the character arc. Will Jean Grey succumb once again to the powers of the Dark Phoenix?

DETECTIVE COMICS #972

Part four of Fall of the Batmen really cranks things up a gear as all hell breaks lose orchestrated by the Victim Syndicate. If you are after a modern Batman story with classic undertones then this is the book for you. Artist Miguel Mendonca draws a really cool looking Clayface too.

CABLE #153

The big bombastic time travelling action continues in part four of the Newer Mutants story arc. The feel of this book is just like being transported back in time to the nineties. Artist Jon Malin is a good choice to help reflect and authenticate the appropriate style on this nostalgia trip.

X-MEN GOLD ANNUAL #1

Excalibur reunion! The old gang is back together for this special extended one shot issue and it is an easy and fun read. Writer Monty Nero also pens a charming back up story that will make you smile and warm your heart.
