​BATMAN #41

"Everyone Loves Ivy" part one kicks off here in issue 41 and is a brilliant jumping on point for people who may have fallen off the main Bat book. After spending half of the issue wondering what the hell is going on all becomes clear towards the end and a riveting story arc is set up. Artist Mikel Janin returns to the series with this issue and what a comeback is it with some absolutely gorgeous work on display here. 

SEX CRIMINALS #22

​Although distinctly lacking in both sex and criminals these days this book is still essential reading. Carrying on the five fingered discount story arc we find suzie and jon haunted by past memories but dealing with them in very different ways. Artist Chip Zdarsky is consistently brilliant as per usual with some hilarious and poignant emoting.

BRAVE AND THE BOLD BATMAN AND WONDER WOMAN #1 (OF 6)

After a change of pace in your Batman books? Then look no further as the Brave and the Bold is a crazy new World of Warcraft style mini series that you need to jump on now! And Wonder Woman fans will most definitely love this book. 

BATMAN TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES II #4 (OF 6)

Part 4 of A Knight In New York sees the confrontation between Bane and The Clan explode in a Venom fuelled fight against the Turtles aided by Batman & Robin. Although the cover reveals a bit of a spoiler this is still an enjoyable read none the less. Colourist Jeremy Colwell elevates the art in this book to a different level and it looks awesome.

BATMAN SINS OF THE FATHER #1 (OF 6)

Based on the acclaimed video game series from Telltale Games this new mini series tells the story of the events between the first and second seasons. Having never played the games myself it took me a minute to get into the story but found it really enjoyable once settled into this gripping story. Artist Raffae leIenco was a good pick for this series with some really nice looking detailed artwork that works well for the theme of this book. 

​BATMAN AND THE SIGNAL #2 (OF 3)

Part two in this three issue mini series sees the plot move along quickly and we start to see a story developing in the form of a classic batman style mystery in need of solving. However this time the man for the job is the signal. Artist Cully Hamner has a style that works really well for this series and suits the tone of the book.
