THE FLINTSTONES #11

My first pick of the week is issue eleven of The Flintstones. This is my first time reading this book after it being recommended to me for a while and it did not disappoint. Writer Mark Russell pens a very clever take on these treasured characters as he stays true to the original concept yet manages to update the dynamic of bedrock making it relevant to the current social and political climate creating stories and themes that we can all relate to.

HAWKEYE #6

My second pick of the week is issue six of Hawkeye. Kate teams up with Jessica Jones in this hilarious wacky romp of an investigation story with an inhuman thrown in for good measure. Writer Kelly Thompson has a real talent for making us invested and care for her characters by writing these female superheroes so believably by grounding them with humanistic wit and charm.
